The people behind Your Soul Name

Whoever creates a Soul Name should be known. No hood, no stage, no anonymous algorithm. Three short sections about the person, the craft, and the lineage behind this work.

Who creates the Soul Name

Portrait of Björn Puls, numerologist and Soul-Name creator

Björn Puls, born in Germany, has worked for more than a decade at the intersection of number and sound. He studied Computer Science, but he was shaped by something different: the quiet discipline of Pythagorean numerology, the Kabbalistic angelic system of the 72 Shemhamphorasch, classical Western astrology with its Sabian Symbols, and shamanic power-animal practice. Four traditions that, at first glance, seem to have little in common — and at second glance describe layers of the same theme: how a human being becomes recognizable in the sound of their name.

Until 2015 he lived in Berlin. Then he left with a backpack — through Mexico to the Maya temples of Chichén Itzá and Tulum, across Bali and Malaysia to the towers of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and finally to Egypt to the Pyramid of Cheops and the temples along the Nile. Today he lives and works on Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand. This isn't a travel diary; it is relevant context. The traditions he works with today — Pythagorean, Kabbalistic, astrological, shamanic — have their roots or their relatives in those places. He didn't go on holiday. He went to listen.

Under the brand Heartbeat of Earth, legally carried by DotRockets Services LLP, yoursoulname.com exists as the English-language home of this work (with a German sister site at seelenname.de). The product exists because the classical answer to the question "who was I before I became all of this?" is missing from the Western esoteric landscape. And because, in many one-on-one conversations, Björn noticed how clearly women in midlife reach for that answer. No guru, no called-from-above narrative — a quiet, precise piece of craft someone has to do, and he is glad to be the one doing it.

The craft

What actually happens when a Soul Name is made? Without trade secrets, but with clarity: from your full birth name, the Pythagorean assignments yield your Soul Number, Expression Number and Personality Number. Your birth date produces the Life-Path Number (kept unreduced if it is a Master Number). The position of the Sun and Moon at birth supplies the astrological foundation; the Sabian Symbol of the birth degree adds an image-rich accent. From the 5° grid table of the 72 Shemhamphorasch angels, your personal birth angel emerges with its specific way of working. Your power animal is determined through a combination of birth date and shamanic correspondence.

From these 17 personalized elements your Soul Name is derived — not rolled like dice. The dominant vowels, the rhythm of the syllables, the timbre are composed to match your numerological-astrological-shamanic signature. The PDF explains every decision: why this vowel, this sound, this rhythm — so you don't only receive the name, you understand it. How the Soul Number is calculated is something you can follow yourself — the vowels of your birth name are mapped to a digit, summed, and reduced to a single digit or a Master Number.

Why we don't generate random-generator names

There are now dozens of apps and websites producing "soul names" by random generator or by feeding a prompt to a language model. The result usually sounds exotic, means nothing, and is interchangeable with any other. We don't do that. A name made of sound alone, with no relationship to your specific Life-Path Number, your Moon position, your angel, your power animal — that name may sound nice, but it doesn't mean you. What we deliver is slower, more precise, and woven from the material of your own life. We combine old traditions, not algorithms. That is the difference, and it is worth the work.

Next steps

If you're curious where you stand right now, take the Soul-Type Quiz — six questions, five minutes, and at the end the archetype currently moving through you. If you'd like to go deeper into the craft, the article on spirit animals and the guide to calculating your Soul Number are good places to begin. And if you're ready to receive your own name, go straight to the homepage.
